Mongon'sar Tumet

INFO22 yrs | 7'4
RaceXaela Au'Ra
ClassesGunbreaker, Machinist

A quiet Au'ra dedicated to keeping his loved one's safe. Focused on his pursuit in getting stronger, Mongon spends most of his time training and learning new skills. He cares deeply for his sister Altan'nar and would do anything for her; their bond being inseparable due to their past. He's fine with being treated as a weapon, since at least he can be useful for once.

I. EARLY LIFE

Mongon'sar was born on the Fifth Astral Moon on the 10th Sun along with his sister Altan'nar. As with tradition within the Tumet tribe, he and his sister partook in the coming of age trial, and were left out in the plains to eventually catch up with their tribe in order to earn the Tumet name. After overcoming several trials and tribulations, he and his sister ultimately failed and were left behind by their tribe. He and his sister survived on their own and made it to Ul'dah, where they spent most of their childhood scrounging to survive. Ul'dah was more of a home than they had ever known in their tribe and gladly show pride for their city-state.

II. ADULTHOOD

Mongon spent most of his time in Ul'dah training. After growing up and doing a few odd jobs for the various merchants on Sapphire Avenue, he enlisted in the Gladiators guild, wanting to get stronger in order to protect his family (Altan). Although he was skinny and skimpy as a young boy, he quickly went through a growth spurt, becoming one of the most dedicated members of the guild. After Altan had left for Gridania to pursue her mage studies, Mongon only grew more and more obsessed with training and began to practice various other martial arts that were taught in Ul'dah. He and Tao-hann of the Pugilists' guild quickly became friends and would often train together.

Assertive, independent, fiercely protective of her people and wary of anyone outside of her circle. Circumstances forced her to grow up too fast. Abandoned to the elements by her tribe in the form of a ceremonious trial, she felt responsible for the survival of her crybaby brother, who used to be the weaker and smaller of the two.Naturally inclined to aetherical manipulations, she used both white and black magic rather recklessly. It wasn't until she met X'run Tia, the infamous Red Mage, that she learned how to channel both in a safe, controlled manner.

I. early childhood

It was the dawn of the selenelion eclipse. Both aspects of Azim and Nhaama- the sun and the moon- were standing guardian on opposite ends of the sky, when a pair of twins were born to the khan of the Tumet tribe. They were named after the auspicious occasion- Altan'nar, the Golden Sun, and Mongon'sar, the Silver Moon. The twins were raised by their aunt and uncle during their toddler years. The couple were by no means coddling, but gave her the love and attention she missed from her parents, who were often away on a separate campsite, closer to the battlefield. So it was all the more terrifying for the small child, when her stranger of a father showed up unexpectedly to peel her away from her aunt's arms. The date of the trial was fast approaching, and no Tumet could avoid it and still be considered a part of the tribe. For five long years, Altan underwent brutal training under her father. The training only became harsher when he picked up on her aptitude for combat and black magic- fighters were a valued asset to the tribe, and he needed to ensure she would survive and return. During the last couple of years, he shifted all of his attention to Altan, leaving her brother in the dust.By the day of the trial, the difference in their preparation was stark. Of the dozen or so children to undergo the trial that year, Altan was the only one to return unscathed, followed by a few other bruised and wounded children. Every night, Altan waited at the edge of the camp, craning her neck to search for a glimpse of her brother's black and blue hair. A full moon passed, with some stragglers showing up here and there, but even still, there was no sight of Mongon. It would soon be time for the tribe to make their move- the karakuls had already eaten up the grass in the area, and they would need to find new land for them to graze. Exasperated, Altan begged her father to wait, but there was no convincing the man who had already chosen to cut his losses two years ago.We have no use for weaklings that bring us down, he spat, with contempt in his voice. I had high hopes for you, but it seems your will is as weak as your brother. At his words, all of her repressed sorrow and anger burst out at once, in her one and only act of defiance against her father. She screamed back, Are you really so strong, if you can't even protect us children? You are the strongest warrior in the tribe, but you're really just a coward.

MERCENARY WORK
Toss a coin to your Xaela... Altan rarely shies away from mercenary work, as long as the pay is good.
A LITTLE ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES
As a red mage with some training in white magic, Altan claims to be able to take care of her own injuries. But the truth is, she's always looking a little roughed up, with scratches on her face and arms. It takes little convincing before she'll reluctantly let others patch her up.
IS THAT A CHALLENGE?
Whether it be a drinking competition, fight to near-death, or a round of gambling, a potential test of wits and might never fails to light a fire behind Altan's eyes.
DRINKING TO FORGET
A bit of relationship troubles with a certain white haired Miqo'te mage has her washing down her sorrows with a hard drink every now and then. She may be emotionally unavailable, but rarely turns down attention...

To the casual observer, there is nothing at all extraordinary about Domineaux: stiff, wry, and somber are often the first descriptors that come to mind. But still waters run deep, and Domineaux is no exception -- behind the Elezen’s dull appearance lies a man hungry for the kind of knowledge that is sure to be deadly in the wrong hands.Curiosity killed the cat; satisfaction brought it back. There are no secrets that are too dark or dangerous to remain buried forever and Domineaux isn't afraid to play gravedigger.

STRANGE ...TRINKETS.
Domineaux is a curator and trader for all sorts of oddities, arcane or otherwise. If you happen to come across a strange artifact or book in your travels, the elezen would be more than happy to take it off your hands -- extra bonus points if it's cursed. Alternatively, Dom could also be persuaded seek out a specific item for the right price.
BACK ALLEY DOCTOR.
A man's gotta earn a living somehow. On the side, Dom moonlights as a doctor and discrete healer. If you need a quick fix and are short on coin, he's your guy. Of course, you get what you pay for... you'll live, but it probably won't be pretty.
THE OTHER SIDE.
Dom has an unhealthy appetite/curiosity for all things dark and unknown. Heard an interesting rumor about some forbidden text or have a harrowing brush with the supernatural? Outgoing and ambitious, Tao-hann is a ray of optimism that brings his energy wherever he goes. He is incredibly supportive of his peers and deeply cherishes any company he keeps. Yet, despite all this, he had been living quite a lonely life. That is, up until he finally left the monastery that his mother dumped him in, and trekked his way through the arid Thanalanian desert to arrive in Ul'dah in search for a greater purpose. Now, Tao-hann spends his time honing his skills in the shinobi and bushido arts, hoping to give to others the protection which he lacked his entire life.

I. Early Life

Tao-hann is the first of seven siblings in his family - him being the only son, with six sisters. As a child, Tao-hann had an aversion to the academics, being unable to read and write fluently until the late age of 10. Unbeknownst to his strict mother and mostly absent father, Tao-hann had a few learning disabilities (which were very much akin to dyslexia and ADHD) that were never diagnosed, growing up in an impoverished family in the middle of the desert. His mother had no patience with him, and would constantly berate him for being an inconvenience to her.His mother wasn’t always like this. But when Tao-hann’s first sister Thea-sal was born, his mother put a heavy responsibility on him to look after her, and gave her much more attention than she ever did Tao-hann. This continues with the birth of his five other siblings. The Keeper of the Moon Miqo’te tribes are heavily matriarchal, which meant that women took priority in society, and Tao-hann was left to his own devices. Despite them being one of the reasons for his neglect, Tao-hann loved his sisters deeply, and defended them with his life.Tao-hann’s father left the family when he was 12, with no protest from his mother. Soon thereafter, he was sent to a monastery dedicated to Oschon, the Traveler, where he stayed for six years. He wasn’t forced to stay at the temple, but he had nowhere else to go - especially not home, where all would be waiting for him was a disappointed mother and sisters who had heard he ran off just like his father.

II. Adulthood

When Tao-hann turned 18, he was nearly imploding with dreams of the outside world. When he was on shift cleaning the temple grounds, he would sometimes catch glimpses of adventurers riding their chocobos, riding with a purpose, to a destination. Day by day he grew more restless - until finally, on a hot summer night, he left the monastery and never looked back. With nothing but a flask of water, some rations, and a pouch containing three gil by his side, he trekked through the desert of Thanalan. For three days, he wandered, lost. He had almost ran out of water before he was found by a chocobo carriage. A man, who introduced himself as Brendt, offered him a ride to Ul’dah. With a sigh of relief, Tao-hann gladly accepted.

TRIVIA

- Tao-hann has never cussed, once, in his entire life. (And he never will!)- He loves goobues with his entire heart, and thinks they're adorable. He has a goobbue sproutling companion named Joppa, and a fully grown counterpart which he named Big Joppa. This is the root of his title of "Goob Lord".- Tao-hann blushes with his entire face, including his ears.- He has a massive crush on his ninja guildmaster Oboro, but he's currently mistaking it for feelings of admiration instead. (He does not know that he is gay.)- He's become great friends with a younger lad named Wilred, whom he met on a quest. Tao-hann treats Wilred like the little brother he never had.- He named his company chocobo Sloppa.- Tao-hann doesn't drink for the most part, though he'll partake occasionally. As a drunk, he just passes out - but he'll mutter secrets in his sleep. (This is why he doesn't drink most of the time.)- He has a very high body temperature, to the point where hot steam can be seen wafting off his body in colder weather. This is why he wears a lot of revealing clothing.
